Remnants to Rugs by Pam
Hi! I’m Pam! I’m the creator of the loom woven rugs.
I am also Michael’s mom, Kelli’s mother-in-law and grandma to their 4 very creative, active kiddos. My husband Alan and I have 3 grown children, all of whom we are so proud of. We love spending time camping with the family, watching Indy Car racing, and traveling to the mountains of Colorado.
I learned my trade from my mom Lavalla, who at this time is 97 years young! She taught me the basics of loom weaving, and I have used my creative thinking to expand and create some beautiful rugs on the same looms that she used for over 30 years.
All of the rugs are made from cotton or cotton poly fabric and warp, the string that holds them together. Since beginning in 2014, I’ve made over 200 rugs. I love using my creative abilities to make each rug. Some have a basic one fabric color, others have a multitude of random colors, more so referred to as “traditional rag rugs.” This has become my retirement job, glorified hobby, and my therapy! It keeps my mind sharp, my body moving and the satisfaction of using remnant pieces of discarded fabric to create one of a kind, beautiful, useful pieces of art.
