Hi there! I’m Kelli, mom, wife, creator. Creating has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
As kids, my brother, our neighbor friends, and I would create all sorts of scenarios for us to carry out in the summers. We lived in the wild (bushes) and were a music group traveling the world by sea (a swingset). Moving into middle and high school, I created music on the clarinet. In college, I began my creation of lesson plans as I learned skills to become an elementary teacher. You never really know the creative side that has to go into building a classroom environment until you are put into that position. While in a classroom, I created (with help of so many others!) a telephone booth, Hogwarts, street signs, posters, and so much more. (Seriously, go tell your teachers thank you for the hundreds of hours they spend during their summers to create those environments - they are superheroes!) After leaving the classroom, I continued to create lessons - just for adults…and my own children!
Now, we have Mustard Seed Faith, our creative outlet. I prayed for next steps during a difficult time, not knowing the path God wanted me to take. Creating was always a part of His plan - just not in the way I thought it would be. Of course, it was clear I was to create a new and improved homeschooling environment, but the creation of Mustard Seed Faith was all new to me. I felt the need (for the first time) to really sit down and sketch what was in my head. Literally, this was a God thing; I’m no artist (or so I thought!). I couldn’t shake the images I kept seeing. Now, I see images and have so many ideas of what to create. It’s a good thing I have Michael to help me think things through and bring my designs to life. For me, this creative outlet has become a source of inspiration to create more…and for the kids. They all want to create and bring new ideas to the table. God knew what He was doing for sure!
All it takes is a small seed of faith to move the mountain you are climbing!
